Scare away the invading human!
Independent studio Koffeecup has released Hoomanz!, a stealth adventure game that is now available on Steam, along with a free downloadable demo. The developers also confirmed upcoming Mac support and localization in Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean and Italian. Console players can look forward to it arriving on Nintendo Switch and Xbox in November.
Humants! offers a light-hearted mix of humor, creativity, and non-combat adventure designed to be cozy and family-friendly. Players take on the role of Shu, the mythical guardian of the planet Erf, a place where light is feared and darkness is its protector. Shu's duty is to protect the planet by scaring away curious Humans who threaten its harmony. Possessing a dual nature, Shu switches between two forms: Dark Shu, who is agile and cruel, and Light Shu, who is slower, defenseless and irresistibly charming, although, much to Shu's annoyance, the Humanzas cannot resist trying to hug him.
The game encourages creativity in stealth and mischief. Players can scare intruders by exploiting the environment by breaking branches, throwing bottles, turning off lights, or even doing yeti-style jumps. Each encounter provides room for experimentation, rewarding clever tricks that force the invaders to flee. As Shu travels across the planet Erf, he can explore bizarre landscapes, overcome natural obstacles, and save local creatures.
As the story progresses, the challenges become more daring and the fight to protect the planet becomes more urgent. Hoomanz combines playful humor and inventive gameplay! delights with its quirky charm, people playing banjos, icy falls and panicked screams – all of which add to its touching mischief. It's a celebration of creativity, nature, and the joy of gentle chaos, wrapped in a cozy, laughter-filled adventure.
