In this episode of “Pigs Run”…
When it comes to Hollywood and Trump Derangement Syndrome, I'm hard-pressed to think of an actor who has demonstrated more hatred for President Donald Trump – let's put it this way:colorful language“? – how Michael Rapaport.
I mean, Rapaport almost makes Robert De Niro look like a Trump supporter. I'm kidding, of course, but Rapaport's history of vile criticism of all things Trump is legendary on the left.
That was then, this is now.
And this “now” is the aftermath of Trump's historic ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which successfully marked the first stage Trump's 20-point peace plan for the region.
Simply put, Rapaport, an outspoken defender of Israel, did a 180 on Trump, declaring, “My views have changed”—and more.
Speaking for the first time about meeting with several freed hostages and relatives of those killed by Hamas, Rapaport said:
I know with all my heart, with all my heart, with all my soul, that the reason I was able to meet them is because of Trump… I can't laugh at him anymore. I can have fun and loving banter, but I can't be disrespectful knowing what I know… and I'm good at it. He deserves my respect and the respect of the Jews. I'm proud that I've changed.
Wow, huh? Who was this guy and where is Michael Rapaport?
The actor-comedian also weighed in on the sorry state of Hollywood during Trump's second term:
It's very, very, very, very one-sided. I would accept [actors saying] “Bring the hostages home and liberate Palestine.” We had two Oscars, two Grammys, two Emmys. [ceremonies] for two years and not a single person said this… These are my peers. It was very unpleasant and disappointing.
This is a group that will scream and shout about everything… If there was one, just one African American from, say, Miami, the whole perspective on this whole thing would change… or five college students from, say, Spellman or Clark, or historically black universities.
Ah, Hollywood.

As I mentioned earlier, Rapaport is a strong supporter of Israel:
I am, of course, a proud Jew, I will stand up and fight fiercely. What I have faced, the sacrifices I have made… do not compare to the people whose lives have been lost… the agony, the trauma and the horror. [hostage families have] collided.
I am created and ready for all the slightest consequences… I wouldn't change a thing. I was lucky to have the means, the forum and the platform… I've been to Israel seven times. I've heard so many stories… I've gained so much more than I've lost.
It's interesting, isn't it, how some people, on both sides of the political divide and everywhere in between, view admitting they're wrong as weakness and instead continue to twist themselves into ridiculous pretzels of denial. Call me crazy, but I've always considered admitting when I'm wrong or mistaken to be my strength.
In this regard, hats off to Michael Rapaport. However, does the actor's change of heart mean more Hollywood people will come out of the TDS-riddled closet?
I doubt it.
