Legendary Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle were found dead in their Brentwood home in Los Angeles on Sunday, both suffering injuries consistent with stab wounds.
In addition to playing Meathead on the long-running, groundbreaking sitcom All in the Family in the 1970s alongside Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton, Reiner went on to direct numerous box office hits, starting with the hysterical 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap and then moving on to such classics as Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…”, “Misery” and, of course, “A”. There are few good people.
Although his politics were clearly leftist, I really enjoyed his work and just last night (Saturday night) I was watching the Spinal Tap sequel and thought to myself, he looked healthy and still had a slick comedic edge.
Details about what happened in this tragic event are scarce; here's what we know according to reports:

In the past we have harshly criticized Reiner for his left-wing political views, but I don't feel this is the time or place to do that.
My top 3 favorite films:
1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. The Princess Bride
3. When Harry Met SallyTo think that Reiner – whatever political differences I had with him – suddenly left and thus… well, it just doesn't count. https://t.co/bFD16PQaJs

Instead, we might remember that despite these views, he delivered some of the greatest entertainment Hollywood has produced in decades, and many people could quote The Princess Bride at will.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
This line alone has become legendary, like many others.
“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
One of the most rewarding awards in cinema is The Princess Bride (1987). Mandy Patinkin said that in this moment he poured out his true grief for his father, which is why it is so powerful.

Meanwhile, When Harry Met Sally is a masterpiece depicting the complexities of modern relationships. Thanks to Reiner and actress Meg Ryan, the film brought one of the most famous climax scenes of all times (with Billy Crystal in a diner) to life.
A Few Good Men features masterpiece acting from Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson; line “You can't handle the truth!” resonates to this day.
As of this writing, we simply do not know who may have stabbed the Reiners as reported. Was it a relative, or a crazy intruder, or something else entirely? (Eat some reports that his son was extremely concerned and could have been the culprit, but this has not been confirmed.) RedState will update you on these revelations when they happen, but in the meantime, whatever Rob Reiner thought about politics, he certainly didn't deserve this fate. May he and his wife rest in peace.
