“This year, I think we are safe. I think the 33rd expedition [will win]”,” explained Pellen. “This is an exceptional and widely acceptable dish. And we are on a knife edge, where it attracts some and infuriates others.”
In the same interview, Team Cherry also commented using mods after a heated debate over the game's difficult challenge.
Silksong's difficulty level has been an ongoing topic of debate since the game finally released in September. Developer Ari Gibson previously said players “have ways to mitigate difficulty through exploration, training, or even bypassing the problem entirely, rather than being stumped“, although this was not enough for some. Shortly after the release of Silksong, several mods were released for the game that added certain customizable variables such as damage and health.
