With all that said, here are some tips if you want to start upgrading your heroes and building a powerful team.

At the beginning of the game, you only want to invest in a select few good heroes because you don't want to waste your resources all over the place and end up with nothing. When you get units like Astaroth, Galahad, Thea, Celeste or Martha, don't hesitate to upgrade them – they will be useful in the long run. Units like Ginger and Arachne, as I mentioned earlier, are very early game oriented, so you won't be able to use them effectively.

Let me give you an example: Ginger is a very strong unit early on, and many people tend to upgrade her. Please don't do this because in terms of damage it won't come close to the powerful synergies of units like Karkh and the Faceless or Keira.

You should never focus on all the characters at the same time. You need to focus on one at a time and after you are done with them, move on to the next one. If you spread your resources too thin, you will fall in terms of power. Of course you can just browse our listbest teams in Hero Wars if you are not sure.

Good team synergy goes a long way when it comes to defeating bosses and completing more stages. You need to make sure that you choose either a Magic ATK team or a Physical ATK team and not a combination of both. If you want to do both, do it later when you have the resources (if that time ever comes… I'm still waiting and farming).

That being said, make sure you max out your core team first, and then if and when you have the resources, you can work on a second or third team. Check out our list of tiers to find the ones to focus on!

Try to complete the Dark Tower every day, especially if your goal is to become stronger as soon as possible. You'll get tons of items, tokens, and gold, and if you manage to complete the full clear, you'll get even more rewards.

Since the tower level depends on your player level, you need to make sure that you only receive rewards once your heroes level is the same as your player level. The Dark Tower can be quite challenging, but you can handle it as it is very good in terms of improving your heroes!
