Henry Cejudo returns to the octagon at UFC 323… the question is, will this be the last fight for perhaps the most decorated athlete in combat sports?!
Here's what we asked Triple C when he joined “TMZ Sport” TV show (airs every evening on FS1) and live coverage (daily at 1:00 pm PT) … just days before Cejudo, 38, walks out Saturday night for his fight against Payton Talbott.
“Saturday is my last fight. I've been doing this since I was 11 years old. Do I still have it physically? 100%. But I just feel like I've been able to learn a lot of new things in life and I'm just ready for chapter two, man,” Cejudo said. Babcock.
Cejudo, of course, is one of 11 fighters in UFC history to become two-division champions. Unlike other great athletes, Henry is the only one who also has an Olympic gold medal (in freestyle wrestling).
We also asked Cejudo if he thought about what emotions he might experience on Saturday.
“Not really. For me it’s just another fight,” Cejudo laughs.
“If there was one thing that came up, it was just a little bit of gratitude that you go through those tough camps and have coaches and training partners sacrifice their time for you, I think that's the only thing that really comes to mind and that I really feel, but other than that, bro, that's where it's all at.”
As for what he has planned for his post-battle life, here's what Henry told us.
“Next month I’ll be 39. I’m 38 now; I want to enjoy my vacation. I'm into real estate and a bunch of other things. Obviously content from Pound 4 Pound. I'm happy with this decision.”
We also spoke to Triple C about the 7-inch height disadvantage he will face this weekend if Merab Dvalishvili GOAT bantamweight and more.
