Hades 2 Switch 2 review
Hades Help Ideal Roguelike, a triumph of design and execution, which captured the entire gaming community for many years. To this end, the continuation has some giant shoes for filling. Hades 2 Whether a completely wonderful job does to justify the hype created by his predecessor. But is that enough? Even better, should it be? Many franchises are purely iterative, making small adjustments to the winning formula so that the fans return. Honestly, I am very glad that I will have more AIDA. Any adjustments or extensions in this formula are icing on a really tasty cake.
For this purpose, Hades 2 stuck in small bonuses. Things that make you play one more race. You have many different resources to collect all types of subgols. Weapons for unlock/update, gardens for aspiration, prophecy, to fulfill, and please people. I would like to make the updated weapon a little easier, mainly that I could experiment and master it even earlier. Each weapon seems to be distinct and unique, enough so that I can not use some of them. There are much more, but, unfortunately, a lot of this is craft and hunting for ingredients.
Drill hunting
Technically, you make spells and lasso, not armor, but sometimes it still becomes stunning. I understand the vision, of course. If there are a bunch of things that can be found in runs, and the same number of projects for their direction, then each run feels more than that. This is the main philosophy of the design of Aida. It just shows how thin the general structure of the game is, and how difficult it is to add significant new elements without violating this original plan. Most new additions cannot be so big, otherwise the game no longer feels like aid. This is a rather delicate ecosystem.
Despite this, the main gameplay loop in ADES 2 seems even more sticky than in the first game. Each race is a chance to improve your skills, raise valuable resources and learn more about this story. I never felt that the mileage was a waste of my time. You always strive for a handful of direct, tangible goals. While the original Hades gave us this revolutionary idea, ADES 2 sees that he returns to a more united, well -thought -out form. To this end, the creation of the material makes more sense. This adds additional weight to your runs, which would not have been otherwise.
Never wasted
The battle feels less liquid, at least at first. There are several reasons for this. Melinoe rhythms are so different from the Zregraus that this is completely sharply. This comes down to weapons, at least for me. The Zaga had real gangs, while chalk feels a little more restrained. But this is due to a new accent on magic. There is a fresh set of synergism to discover. Charging for the use of omega -versions of spells and blows is a dangerous choice that gives big rewards. The same with lunar abilities. At first, all these new mechanics feel clumsy and strange. But as soon as you attach this perfect synergy, suddenly they make sense. Although the hexes of the moon need so many steps, they are a rather hard plane, at least from my experience. The weapon simply needs practice and patience that Hades 2 constantly teaches you.
The soundtrack for Aida 2 has several serious hits. In particular, SCYLLA and sirens. I am sincerely grateful that you fought with her repeatedly. Every chance to hear that music is highly appreciated. The rest of the soundtrack is excellent! But these songs are incredible, full of outstanding.
Soundtrack of the highest level
Aid also had a fantastic letter, and the continuation continues this impulse. You are thrown into a mix with a very small context, at least first. But each race brings you new precious cliffs of history, and soon you have a whole narrative. These are not just large plot strokes, or. Bits of the background, personal history and family drama unfolded at the same gradual pace. Like your collection of resources, you slowly accumulate an impressive inventory of knowledge.
Although I still love visual effects, they are actually no different from the first game. And they should not, honestly. Instead, small, but significant changes in design give Aida 2 a more magical and mysterious palette. This is an underground world, founded in ancient witchcraft and strange forces. Your skills are crowned in acute smoke and slow electricity bolts, and your weapon is made from the very night sky.
Guardian Battle (bossry battles) are intended to be tough, and they are. They feel ideal tests of all your skills that I love. However, I have tiny grievances about the fight against chronos. Maybe skip this next paragraph if you had not known.
To absorb this, chronos
In particular, the second stage of the fight against chronos is felt as a spiritual successor to the tokens mechanics from old arcade games. Instead of collecting your quarters, it just eats your time. By which I mean that you can be in one place in oblivion, sent immediately back to the intersection for a completely new run. At least with Aid, you were beaten by a tireless attack from all sides. It was like that you could practice and ultimately master. Chronos feels an attempt to reveal your own murder. Something led you to the screen of the murder after half a second, but what?
I love this game. In fact, he has everything that I loved in Aida. If you are hoping for the continuation that brings the wheel, you may not find it here. In addition to hunting garbage and excursions to the surface, this is a rather familiar experience. On the other hand, you have a whole new list of spells and weapons, so that master, bosses, to win, and a new story that needs to be disclosed. Yes, this is largely more than the same AID that we know and love. But I'm completely in order with this. Hades 2 – iterative improvement of the old formula. And the old formula was almost perfect. If you hoped for more Hades, you simply cannot miss Hades 2.
