Check out the improvements to GunZ: The Duel
Masangsoft announced that GunZ: Duel will return to Steam for a second global playtest, running from December 11 to 14 (PST). This new session builds on the momentum of the previous closed test, with the studio layering updates formed directly from community feedback gathered from Medal.tv clips. Discord conversations and in-game reports.
The team has published a detailed changelog detailing a wide range of improvements. From a technical standpoint, the playtest offers higher tick rates, an adjustable field of view slider, rebuke protection settings ranging from 0 to 100, and smoother network performance. Combat also receives some attention, with updated multi-kill indicators and audio cues, additional enemy outlines, improved health bar colors, and no camera lock while wall running.
In addition, developers are striving to optimize performance with new system updates. Matches now start even if some players are not ready. The team has strengthened AFK detection and redesigned the chat and store interfaces for greater visibility. They also addressed several long-standing issues, including HP and AP display errors, scoreboard inconsistency, and map clipping. Small improvements complete the package. You can center the combat interface, use a short delay with the mouse wheel, practice weapons for experiments, and access the relocated ring equipment interface.
According to game director PD Max, this phase represents months of tweaking based on player insights to update GunZ's signature style while maintaining the elements that define its fast and acrobatic personality.
The playtest can be accessed directly from the game's page on the Steam store once registration opens. Participants will be approved through the Steam access system, and some newsletter subscribers will receive keys via email. The session will run from December 11 at 6:00 pm to December 14 at 6:00 pm (PST).
