If you've been to the movies recently, you know this. Jacob Elordi is one of the people in Hollywood at the moment.
Well, when we spoke with Guillermo Del Toro about Jacob in Frankensteinand he was all compliments.
Reflecting on the filming process, Guillermo shared that he learned a lot from everyone Frankenstein the actors tell us: “Every one of them was a teacher.”
He went on to make some impressive comparisons between Jacob and the two legendary old Hollywood icons.
“Jacob: two takes and he's out. Truth, skill, discipline. He's Gary Cooper, but he's also Marlon Brando“He’s an incredible actor,” Guillermo said.
Considered one of the greatest film actors of the 20th century, Marlon Brando is often credited with popularizing acting; he was known for drawing on personal memories and real emotions bring your characters to life.
Gary Cooper, who began his career as a Western hero and continued to dominate the silver screen throughout the '30s and '40s, is said to have approached his craft with a naturalistic and subtle approach.
Looking at Jacob's performances – from Priscilla To Euphoria – it is clear why Guillermo made such comparisons; playing turbulent, complex characters with so much nuance and depth, many of his previous co-stars praised him for his range.
Jacob has previously described his approach to work as “open” and Guillermo previously published that it was his performance that made him choose him as his creation, saying: “Jacob's eyes are so full of humanity… I saw Saltburnand I liked his innocence and openness.”
