Ground of Aces Rolls Out Its Major Update 2

Time to heal in the “Land of Aces”

Blindflug Studios, a Swiss-Polish indie team behind a World War II base-building strategy game. Land of Acesreleased the second major update called “First Aid”. Following a positive response from the community and an 85% positive rating on Steam, the studio continues to refine and deepen the game's focus on human stories on the airfield. This update introduces a health and injury system, a feature that adds realism and emotional depth, making the well-being of each crew member a critical part of the gameplay.

The second major update marks a major milestone for the game, bringing new levels of strategy and immersion to life on a wartime air base. Players will now face the reality of injury and recovery as personnel can be injured during missions or attacks. To care for their teams, players can assign doctors and nurses, build recovery centers, and turn parts of their base into functioning field hospitals using new props.

The update also expands on the game's historical accuracy by introducing members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), who join the airfield as part of the crew. Their presence expands the narrative and highlights the important role women played in supporting the war effort.

“This update makes planning and organizing your airfield in Ground of Aces even more fun.” says Moritz Zumbuhl, executive producer at Blindflug Studios. “War isn't just about the planes and the missions; it's about the men and women who kept those planes flying. With the addition of health, recovery and WAAF, the stories you experience with your crew become much more personal and exciting.”
