shapingStep In the cozy world of Greenhearth Necromancer
Silverstring Media, working with indie.ioreleased the first public demo of Greenhearth Necromancer on Steam. This is a cozy and magical semi-idle garden game, which takes place on the balcony of a small apartment, where life and death live on the same soil. The demo is now available on Steam, giving players an early look at the world before its full release.
The story tells of a young necromancer who inherits a balcony garden from his late grandmother. Guided by the spirit of Grandma, players will revive plants, brew potions and cast gentle spells. In doing so, create an ecosystem where thriving flowers and undead sprouts grow together. Written by the BAFTA-nominated creator of I Was a Teenage Exo-Colonist, the game explores grief, early adulthood, community and the quiet comfort of caring for an abandoned space.
The experience combines the charm of a little witchy gardening simulator with the relaxed flow of a semi-idle game. The balcony changes over time, encouraging players to step away and return to see what has grown, withered, or transformed. New materials may emerge, withered plants may be ready to be resurrected, and new narrative moments may unfold as time passes.
The garden does not require constant supervision. Plants may flourish, wilt, be attacked by pests, or be destroyed, but each change becomes part of a natural rhythm. Making potions to control pests and fungi, reviving plants as undead companions, and tending living and ghostly flora create a space where change is expected, even meaningful. Whether you're doing the pruning and crafting, or letting the balcony drift quietly in the background while working or studying, players can create a garden that grows with their daily lives.
