Kristina Kaltunkova scored early, Savannah Norcross scored a late insurance goal and goaltender Cale Osborne kept the shutout as the New York Sirens beat the Vancouver Goldeneyes 2-0 on Wednesday.

Kaltunkova scored for the third straight game and fourth time this season when she scored 1:21 into the first period to give New York the lead (4-0-0-5).

Kaltunkova, the top pick in this year's draft out of Colgate University and the Czech Republic, used an assist from freshman Anna Bargman – her first – to glove past goalie Emerance Maschmeyer.

New York's fourth line extended the lead to 2-0 in the third period when Norcross, a sophomore forward, scored her first career goal at 4:39. Emmy Fecteau and Kayla Vespa recorded their first assists of the season.

Osborne, the only goalie to start every game this season, made 27 saves for the Sirens. It's Osborne's second shutout this season and first since a 4-0 road win over Ottawa in the season opener.

Osborne pitched one shutout — against Ottawa — last season as a rookie, when she made eight starts and 10 appearances.

Maschmeier stopped 24 shots for the Goldeneyes (2-1-1-5), who remain winless on the road this season.

New York went 0-for-5 on the power play. Vancouver went 0-for-4 and failed to capitalize on its final eight opportunities with an extra skater.
