There is also an element of Canadian pride in the design as it tells the story of Canada. They take inspiration from the country's landscapes and environments, including a maple leaf design and a topographic map print.
Brand ambassador and Olympic skier Cassie Sharp gushed about the bright red runway jacket she modeled in a pre-show interview on Tuesday, pointing out the swirl pattern that is actually a topographical map of Canada.

“I like that they thought about putting a topographical map on the bottom. And then there's sort of a waterproof mesh layer on top,” Sharp said, adding that she also liked how the zipper tag said “Canada” on one side and repeated in braille on the other side.

What Canadian athletes wore: Canada is known to be a pretty cold place for most of the year, but it was decided that Lululemon's puffy vests layered over puffy coats, complemented by puffy scarves, thick mittens and puffy hats might have been overkill.

What Canadian athletes wore: Although 370 athletes represented the Great White North – the largest Olympic team since 1984 – in Tokyo, only a small number of them took part in the opening ceremonies due to the terrible pandemic sweeping the world. And you may remember that the Games were delayed a year due to COVID-19, meaning the 2020 Summer Games actually took place in 2021.
Dressed in white pants and red track jackets with the word “CANADA” on one arm, the 2021 uniform was designed by Hudson's Bay. As a sign of special patriotism, a large maple leaf prominently featured on the back of each jacket was made up of 13 lines, symbolizing the unity of Canada's 10 provinces and three territories.
