VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 25, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Scott Lendrum, CEO of Giga Metals Corp. (TSX-V: GIGA; OTCQB: GIGGF; FSE: BRR2) today announced the receipt of results from a recent magnetotelluric (MT) geophysical survey at Turnagain, interpreted by Matthew Penney, President of Hardrock Geophysical.
Highlights:
- Completed geophysics program in the little-explored Attic zone
- MT exploits the resistivity contrast with the mapping geometry of the ultramafic intrusive complex.
- The data support an upward structural orientation, an untested basal contact.
Figure 1: The original MT lines were located over a large soil copper anomaly in the Attic zone, which is also promising for platinum gas mineralization.
“This is the first step in a methodological program to search for copper, platinum and palladium in the Attic zone of the Turnagain ultramafic complex,” Mr Lendrum said. “MT performed well in this environment, identifying geometry and identifying previously unknown features.”
“MT is an ideal tool for exploiting the strong resistivity contrast between the ultramafic complex and surrounding sedimentary rocks at significant depth,” said Dr Stephen Beresford, who is advising on the exploration program. “We now have a high degree of confidence that the geometry of the Turnagain intrusion is in place and facing upward, that the basal contact has not been tested, and that the marginal contacts have not been tested to any significant depth.”

Figure 2: 3D view of line 1 with shallow penetrating airborne EM data plotted on the topography. This supports the interpretation that the obsessive is in his original upright position. The basal contact was not tested, and the marginal contacts were generally not tested.

Figure 3: 3D view of Line 2 with shallow penetration data plotted on the topography. Historical electromagnetic radiation from the air did not penetrate deep enough to detect a previously unknown low resistivity anomaly that will require further investigation.
“Dr Beresford recommended that additional MT lines be installed to delineate the intrusive geometry to the north-west and south-east to limit the scope of the search for further work,” Mr Lendrum said. “These will be followed by electromagnetic surveys that will help prioritize drilling targets. Our recently completed funding will fund this geophysical program until spring 2026.”
About Giga Metals Corporation
The main asset of Giga Metals Corporation is Project Turnagainlocated in northern British Columbia, which contains some of the few significant undeveloped nickel and cobalt sulphide resources in the world. Turnagain is owned by Hard Creek Nickel, a subsidiary jointly owned by Giga Metals Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation. A pre-feasibility study was published in October 2023.
The Turnagain ultramafic complex is also prospective for copper, platinum and palladium mineralization in the Attic Zone, an area adjacent to known nickel reserves.
