New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo is quickly making a name for himself in the NFL.

After a stellar performance in the Giants' 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, ESPN interview with Skattebo's mother from January resurfaced, providing even more insight into the running back's unique mindset.

“Cameron has always had a knack for overcoming adversity,” Becky Skattebo said in the clip. “He would climb out of any cart seat he could find. That's how he got the nickname 'Houdini,' because if he didn't want to be somewhere, he would get out of the situation he was in.”
She went on to say that Skattebo started playing football at a young age because of his older brother, which shows the strange habit the running back has developed.

“He would put on his brother’s shoulder pads and run into telephone poles. As soon as he stepped onto the field, it was no wonder the punishment he inflicted on himself and everyone else.”
Skattebo is playing his best game this season. He rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants' upset win over Eagles. Fellow freshman Jackson Dart also had a rushing touchdown and another passing score in Thursday's win.

“I’ll sleep with No. 3 as my pillow tonight,” Skattebo said as he held the game ball after the game. “We played hard and kudos to the guys up front for all the effort they put into me and this team.”
The Giants improved to 2-4 and will face Denver Broncos on Sunday.
