George Clooney said Hunter Biden told an “outright lie” when he criticized him for calling on his father Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 US presidential race.

Over the summer, Joe Biden's son went on a rant against the star and his New York Times op-ed in 2024. The actor called on President Biden to withdraw his bid for re-election and provide Democrats with a new candidate who can challenge Donald Trump.
Responding to the furious comments on CBS's Sunday Mornings, George Clooney made it clear he doesn't want to fall out with the 55-year-old.
“I could spend a lot of time debunking what he said because a lot of what he said is outright lies,” the actor and director said. “Obama didn’t force me to do it, it wasn’t my fundraiser, all that stuff. But I don't really think that kind of step back would be good for anyone, especially him.”
George Clooney continued, “I don't think this is going to help the Democratic Party, so I'll just wish him luck in his recovery (from addiction) and hope he does well, and I'll leave it at that.” “I have a lot of personal opinions about this, but I don't think it would be helpful to have a public feud with him.”
