Luna IV version coming to Genshin Impact
HoYoverse will release Genshin Impact Version Luna IV, “Winter Night's Traveler”, on January 14, ushering in the game's first major update in 2026. The update introduces Columbine and Zibai as playable characters and revives the Lantern Rite in Liyue with holiday rewards. And all this time, the storyline of Nod's Edge was approaching the long-awaited confrontation with Il Dottore. At the same time, the world is expanding northward for the first time. This will allow players to explore the Pyramid, the headquarters of the Guardians of Light.
As tensions reach their peak in Nod Land, the Archon's final quest reaches its dramatic conclusion. Inspired by the March of the Moon, Il Dottore goes beyond his research and draws the Traveler into a twisting battlefield where the laws of reality no longer apply. Completing the quest unlocks a new outfit for the Traveler, offering greater insight into their personal journey and developing control over the power of the elements.
Columbine, known as Moon Maiden, enters the battlefield as the five-star character Hydrocatalyst, who excels at dealing with Moonlight reactions. She supports the team off the field with coordinated attacks and a lunar zone that increases reaction damage. Luna IV also introduces Moon Crystallization, a new Geo and Hydro reaction that summons Moon Cells to deal Geo damage and potential critical hits to nearby enemies. Zibai, a legendary adept from Liyue and a five-star Geo Sword user, is based on this system. He enters a special state that allows him to use increasingly powerful attacks as the moon's crystallization triggers more often.
Beyond combat, Luna IV continues the conflict with the Wild Hunt through new world quests set in the Pyramid. The Liyue Lantern Rite also returns with heartwarming stories, mini-games, and generous rewards. Players can earn Primogems, Intertwined Fates, outfits, and even invite the four-star character Liyue for free.
