Geno Smith apologized for flipping middle finger to Raiders fans

Las Vegas RaidersThe season hasn't gone according to plan and fans expressed their disappointment over the weekend.

When they fell to a miserable 2-9 record, which led to the firing of the offensive coordinator. Chip KellyRaiders fans booed Geno Smith as he left the field, continuing a trend that began before the game even started.

Smith responded by appearing flick your middle finger.

Smith admitted he “made the wrong decision out of frustration” and apologized.

“I have to be better than this and I have to hold myself to a higher standard. I didn't do it at that moment. I sincerely apologize and am obviously very sorry for doing this. I just want everyone to know that things like this will never happen to me again,” Smith told reporters on Wednesday.

However, this is the second time Smith has done so this year. He made the same gesture before a preseason game in Seattle to a fan who was holding a sign comparing him to former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, in one of the biggest upsets in franchise history.

Since moving to Las Vegas in 2020, the Raiders have made the playoffs just once, losing in the wild card round in 2021. They went 4-13 last season and selected Ashton Jeanty with the sixth overall pick.
