Gene Simmons Compares Trump to Jesus │ Exclaim!

Last weekend was a busy one for musicians cozying up to the US government. Next Nicki Minaj's appearance at the Turning Point USA event, CNN shared pre-recorded video Gene Simmons say kind words about Donald Trump on Sunday (December 21).

The interview with reporter Manu Raju was filmed after KISS A member of the group testified before the Senate in support of the American Music Fairness Act on December 9. After discussing the politicians he had interacted with, Simmons recounted his meeting with the US President and said their relationship was “amazing.”

Then things took a strange turn when he compared Trump to Christ: “Not everyone loves Jesus, but you can certainly say this: He was the duly elected President of these United States, perhaps by an overwhelming majority of the popular vote, as well as the Electoral College. End of story.”

It may not have been a statement of full support, but it's hard to say. When asked what he thought about MAGA, Simmons responded more bluntly: “Some of it makes sense and some of it doesn't.” He also wondered why anyone would come to him specifically for his political views and why anyone should care.

“It’s no one’s business who you support,” Simmons added. When Raju jokingly suggested that Simmons would not answer the question if asked whether he supported Trump's policies, he replied: “The question is, who are you to ask that question?” You might think it's a reporter's job to ask questions, but who's to say for sure?

While remaining defensive, Simmons concluded his remarks on the matter by saying, “Stop worrying about what your next-door neighbor believes or doesn't believe. This is their America too.”
