Appearing in Gears of War: E-Day is about to begin
Gears of War fans may be a little disappointed that Gears of War: E-Day skipped the Game Awards this year. To reassure fans, the official Gears of War social media accounts shared an image confirming that the game will still release in 2026. The post featured a skull against a red and black background, but details were kept under wraps.

E-Day will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and may also come to PlayStation 5. What follows Gears of War: Rebootthe first game in the series to appear on a Sony console. Co-creator Cliff Bleszinski expressed support for the franchise moving beyond console exclusivity.
Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024, E-Day has seen few updates since then. However, just over a year ago, John DiMaggio (Futurama) and Carlos Ferro announced they were taking on the roles of Marcus Fenix ​​and Dominic “Dom” Santiago.
The game tells an original prequel story, set 14 years before the first Gears of War, following Marcus and Dom as young soldiers in the Coalition of Orderly Governments. At the moment, there is a fragile peace in their world, Sera; however, the appearance of the Locust Horde disrupted the peace. The emergence of the Locust threatens humanity's survival, setting the stage for the intense battles that fans have come to know the series for.
The new city, Kalona, ​​will be a key location in the story, offering players new environments and conflicts. With its release just around the corner, Gears of War: E-Day promises to expand the franchise's lore while delivering the action-packed gameplay that fans love.
