Gaza humanitarian efforts reach key milestone as UNICEF vaccinates some 13,000 children

UN officials told the Jerusalem Post that all syringes and vaccines needed for the vaccination campaign have already been delivered to Gaza.

UNICEFThe UN Children's Fund announced on Thursday that it has successfully carried out the first round of a routine vaccination catch-up campaign in the Gaza Strip, reaching more than 13,700 children across the Gaza Strip.

These children have missed routine vaccinations for the past two years due to the October 7 massacre and the war that followed.

UN representatives said Jerusalem Post that all syringes and vaccines needed for the vaccination campaign have already been delivered to Gaza, adding that the new US plan Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat played a key role in ensuring access and safe delivery of necessary materials.

Work is currently underway to conduct the second and third rounds vaccination campaign in Gaza with the intention of reaching every child missing due to war.

UNICEF representatives told Mail they are working to expand their activities in the Gaza Strip, including identifying, preventing and treating malnutrition among children and access to clean water and sanitation.
