If anyone is wondering why exactly Netflix would like to buy Warner Bros. — take a look at the Golden Globe nominations this morning. Netflix and HBO Max from Warner Bros. became leaders in the number of nominations on television thanks to such popular shows as White Lotus And Adolescence scoring six and five points respectively. And in film, they were one of the top three studios, along with Netflix. Frankenstein and WB Sinners And One battle after another dominating the ceremony. The only studio to beat them was upstart Neon, which led the way in such foreign films as Sentimental value, Secret agent, And It was just an accident 21 nominations in total.
Paul Thomas Anderson One battle after another was the most nominated film overall with nine nominations. Sentimental value And Sinners were close behind, with eight and seven nods respectively. Sinners missed out on the Supporting Actress category, where Wunmi Mosaku should have gone – instead the spot went to Emily Blunt in the Dwayne Johnson vehicle Destruction machine.
The nominees were announced by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall at 8:15 a.m. ET. CBSNews.com. Nikki Glaser then returns to host the ceremony on January 11, which will air on CBS and Paramount+. Below are all the movies, TV shows, limited series and podcasts Glaser will roast.
