Fragbite sells Playdigious to venture fund Griffin Gaming Partners for $12.2m

Fragbite sold Playdigious to Griffin Gaming Partners for $12.2 million (€10.5 million).

As part of the deal, gaming and esports firm Fragbite Group received 90% of net revenue from PC games such as Fretless – The Wrath of Riffson through its Playdigious Originals publishing business.

Playdigious is primarily known as a mobile publisher with games like Dead Cells and Cultist Simulator. He also handles Switch releases.

Fragbite said the acquisition of Playdigious in 2021 was a “successful investment for the company,” adding that the asset sale would allow the group to “secure a strong capital position and support new strategic initiatives.” Playdigious was Fragbite Group's largest subsidiary, accounting for 77 percent of revenue in 2024. However, the company says the sale will have a “limited impact on the gaming business strategy, which relies on decentralization and a focus on intellectual property rights, which will remain.”

“Playdigious was acquired in 2021 and has been a successful investment. We now have the opportunity to sell the subsidiary in a compelling transaction that allows us to secure a strong capital position, continue to grow the Fragbite Group and support new strategic initiatives such as the Bitcoin Treasury initiative,” said Fragbite CEO Stefan Tengwall.

He continued: “Fragbite Group’s close ties to Playdigious, with founders Xavier Liard and Romain Tisserand and CEO Abrial Da Costa, are strong and our collaboration continues. We have always been very proud of the Playdigious team and I want to thank everyone on the team for being such a positive part of the group over the years. I believe Playdigious will continue to grow with the highly skilled team at Griffin Gaming Partners and wish them all the best. good luck in your future endeavors.”

Publisher Playdigious was acquired by Fragbite Group, formerly known as Swedish mobile games company FunRock, in 2021.. Fragbite CEO Markus Theilman resigned from his position last year and was replaced by Tengvall.
