If there was an award for “Most syllables in a game title,” Fragariamemories Color of Wishes would probably take it home in a heartbeat. But beyond the fact that it's just a big name, there's something quite fascinating here that struck me. This is a fantasy adventure about knights sworn to protect none other than Hello Kitty myself. Yes, indeed.
Ateam Entertainment and Sanrio are co-developing this upcoming smartphone adventure, which is part of Sanrio's broader multimedia project Fragariamemories. This is a true knightly fantasy with music, story and all the heroic flair that I certainly didn't expect from the company that gave us pastel bunnies and cute penguins.
Premise? The land of Fragaria is under threat from mysterious creatures known as the Seeds. To protect the lords of three continents: Red, Blue and Noir, the Knights of Fragaria rise to defend their world. Hallritt leads the attack, answering the call of Lord Hello Kitty herself. It's all very noble and dramatic, and I'm not going to lie, a little absurd, considering Hello Kitty is a lord and all.
There are a total of 18 knights in the game, divided into three units called Bouquets, each representing the color of their continent. Sanrio describes it as a “true fantasy story for a new generation,” which suggests we're in for more than just cute mascots in shining armor, although let's be honest, that's half the appeal.
It's also a bold move for Sanrio, which has spent decades perfecting the art of charming branding. Now they move into the realm of knights, quests and moral codes, and if this is not the final transition between cute and serious, then nothing is.
Fragariamemories Color of Wishes doesn't have a release date yet, starting in 2026, but a trailer has already been released to get you in the mood. If this setup suits you, you might want to check out our listing best role-playing games on Android right now!
