elected mayor of New York Zoran Mamdani preparing for a meeting with the president Donald Trump at the White House on Friday — fulfilling the promise he made to voters during his election night victory speech that he would work with anyone if it would benefit his constituents.

While the president has been sharply critical of Mamdani, he said Sunday he wants to see “things work out well in New York” as both leaders focus on a key issue for Americans: affordability.
