Ever since Ghostface arrived in Call of Duty many years ago, I've been eagerly awaiting my favorite horror icon to appear in my favorite multiplayer game. I knew it was just a matter of time, and luckily that time has come. Fortnitemares 2025 adds Ghostface among many other crossovers such as Scooby-Doo, Terrifier's Art the Clown, indie horror hits REPO and Poppy Playtime and many more in Fortnite. But not all of these collaborations have received the same praise, and even cooler than the upcoming Ghostface skin is the new Scream-inspired weapon.
Fortnite's latest Halloween event features a new Last Call weapon inspired by the iconic slasher film Scream. Weapons are more like a collection of features; it is a knife with movement abilities, voice lines, and, if equipped, a full Ghostface costume attached. Unlike Scooby Snacks or Doja Cat's Thorn Ripper, which are both fun while also being rehashes of pre-existing items, Last Call isn't quite like anything the game has included before, and as a huge Scream fan, I think Epic absolutely nailed the design.
First, here's how you acquire it. You cannot pick up the Last Call knife from chests or find it as loot on the floor. Instead, you will have to visit a telephone booth. After briefly stepping into a phone booth, you emerge dressed as Ghostface and abandon the all-black suit and iconic white mask whenever you remove the knife, which is among Scream's long list of killers claiming to be Ghostface over the years.
I'll admit, it was kind of funny when I was already playing as Michael Myers and switching between Carpenter and Kraven at the press of a button, but I love how this subtle aesthetic choice reflects an important facet of the Scream series – not to mention that it gives some people the opportunity to run around as Ghostface even if they haven't bought the skin yet.
In addition, there are special Last Call functions. Owning it will make you run faster. Speed has always set Ghostface apart from most other slasher films. Where the likes of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers walk slowly toward their prey (and that can no doubt be scary in itself), Ghostface races. Epic wisely combined the knife with a movement speed booster to really capture the killer vibe.
The final touch that I really like is the phone call element tied to the item. The Knife includes the ability to “summon” others on the map, which in gameplay terms means pinging anyone within the item's range whenever you use the ability between cooldowns. The phone call is the first thing we hear in the Scream series, and the voice of Roger L. Jackson taunting the victims about their favorite horror stories and stalking them while they go into hiding is as integral to the series as the mask itself.
Ghostface's weapon in Fortnite, the Last Call knife, includes a costume switch, a phone that rings and calls nearby enemies, faster movement, and voice lines (a little hidden here under the noise of the pumpkin launcher). This is so damn cool.

In Fortnite, every time you pick up a knife from a phone booth, you hear Ghostface – and it looks like it's really Jackson reprising his role – barking a voice line. When you successfully ping someone nearby using the summon ability, they will speak again. In just a few rounds of Last Call, I heard several different phrases. These features give the knife a role-playing element, with every aspect reflecting the character's nearly 30-year history.
Being a big fan of Scream, I already try to not only take Last Call every round, but even play with just this knife (and of course some movement and healing items). Sure, Ghostface briefly wields a shotgun in Scream 6, but I have a lot of fun playing the main villain of my favorite horror movie in my knives-only matches. There are even Quest Fortnitemares use it on seven different players.
Epic is constantly adding cool and inventive new things to Fortnite every season, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised by how cool the Ghostface crossover has become, but this The level of thoughtfulness in weapon design has often been seen in many major Star Wars and Marvel collaborations. As someone who doesn't feel anything about those series, but who loves Scream so much that I have a Ghostface tattoo, I'm so excited to be at the center of Fortnite's latest effort to go super mile.
