Fortnite's Simpsons season is finally here after months of rumors, and in some ways it's a lot more interesting than previous mini-seasons. This is because this is the first of them to take place on a completely new and original island. While other November mini-seasons took place on updated versions of old maps, and the Star Wars season just added Star Wars locations to the Battle Royale map, The Simpsons season introduces an all-new village-shaded island based on Springfield and various iconic locations from the series that we'll be fighting over in November.
At least one sacrifice was made for this card to appear. This island is slightly smaller than the current Battle Royale map, and as a result it uses a smaller player count than usual – 80 players instead of 100. But that's not necessarily the worst thing, as a smaller island should mean faster, more exciting rounds, and they could also keep it as a post-season reboot map, which would make all that effort a little more worthwhile.
The new island includes nine major named locations, such as the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, and it's full of gimmicks, such as there will be one randomly triggered event each round where players can race for great loot. These are the new places on the map:
- Springfield Nuclear Power Plant
- Cletus Corn Pit
- Kamp Krusty
- Burns Estate
- Springfield town square
- Mayor's Snacks
- Donut District
- Evergreen terrace
- Springfield Slurpworks
As you can see, Epic essentially broke Springfield into several smaller parts and scattered them around. I shudder to think how many Easter eggs this card must be filled with. Scroll on to take a closer look at some of the main places and attractions you'll find on the map. And before you ask, yes, these are all real Fortnite screenshots.
