Former Ridgeline Game GM “disappointed” EA omitted staff from Battlefield 6 credits “despite their significant contributions”

Marcus Lehto, Halo co-creator and former Ridgeline Games executive, said he was “disappointed” that Ridgeline Games employees were not mentioned in the recent release of Battlefield 6.

Ridgeline, which was closed by parent company EA in 2024worked on Battlefield 6's single-player campaign before it was cancelled, but Lehto claims that “despite their significant contributions, [most staff] Those fired were relegated to the 'Special Thanks' section at the very end of the credits, and some were omitted entirely, including me.”

“I am disappointed that many of my former teammates at Ridgeline Games were not properly mentioned in the recent release of Battlefield 6,” he wrote in a statement on the site. LinkedIn.

“These talented developers worked tirelessly for 1 to 2.5 years creating the core of the game before I voluntarily left and the studio subsequently closed.

“Out of respect for my co-stars and the amazing work they put into this project, I want to take a moment to properly recognize them—by listing their names and roles as I would have preferred them to appear in the credits.

“Game development is a team effort, and everyone involved deserves fair recognition,” he concluded.

In a subsequent statement, he wrote: “Ridgeline was responsible for creating a new narrative framework, fictional setting, believable factions, and iconic locations to complete the campaign missions. We did this in close collaboration with the other fantastic BF studios and were very proud of the exciting things that made it into the final game.

“On the other hand, it is also clear that the high-level story, characters and missions, as well as the more open sandbox-style SP gameplay we were developing, were canceled after Ridgeline's demise. I could do the same if I were them.”
