TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, the former Good Morning America co-hosts who became embroiled in a cheating scandal in late 2022, are ready to tie the knot.
“We are letting you all know that we are engaged, and we have been engaged for a month now,” Robach, 52, said Tuesday in a statement. Amy and TJ Podcast.
“We're actually surprised we're only talking about this now,” Holmes, 48, added. “We wanted you all to know about it before anyone else could. I think we've learned this lesson in the past about our relationships: We want to be the first to talk about it.”
Former ABC News personalities have been shamefully caught in the middle. dispute in December 2022when several media outlets reported that they had a month-long affair while they were still with their partners. Both Holmes and Robach began working for ABC News in 2014, and since 2020, they have co-anchored the daily program “GMA3: What You Need to Know.” They were known among audiences for their playful interactions and on-screen chemistry.
News of the case dominated the headlines, prompting ABC drop anchors. A few weeks after the scandal became known, ABC News parted ways with Holmes and Robach. “We all agreed that it would be best for everyone if they left ABC News,” a news executive said at the time.
ABC filled the former co-host positionsand Holmes and Robach went to Instagram official. Their ex-spouses also found solace in their shared experiences and caused an affair their own.
In December 2023, Holmes and Robach finally broke their joint silence regarding their “year of hell” The couple said they want to go public with their relationship before media outlets like Page Six and the Daily Mail end up getting ahead of them. They also discussed the impact the scandal had on their mental health.
“We've been through it all together,” Robach said during their podcast debut. “It was the most beautiful relationship of my life.”
