Former BioWare general manager Casey Hudson is leading a new Canadian game studio developing Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic.
Hudson, who led BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic project, founded Arcanaut Studios in July 2025 and was joined by Chris Bain (CFO), Cordy Rierson (COO) and Ryan Hoyle (CTO).

“Now, 25 years after we started working on this game, our aspirations are just as ambitious,” he added.
“Fate of the Old Republic represents an opportunity to explore a modern vision of the full Star Wars experience using the latest technology and game design, and an all-new story created specifically to combine player agency with the Star Wars immersion that was at the heart of KOTOR.”
Hudson worked at Bioware for 16 years. leaving in 2014 to return to the company in 2017. He left in 2021 along with Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah and created Humanoid origin. “Humanoid” closed this time last yearending development of the untitled and ultimately unreleased sci-fi game.
