Penn State's reserve room will look much different in 2026 as the team will say goodbye to senior rushing duo Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, who both declared for the NFL Draft. Redshirt sophomore Cam Wallace also entered the portal. This means that the team's most experienced defensemen will likely be playing for new teams next year.
Good news for Nittany Lions is that they have a lot of talent waiting in the wings. Martin showed off his potential with a 100-yard game against Clemson, while Hayes and Jabree Coleman are former 4-star recruits who could make difference next year.
If head coach Matt Campbell wants to add to his backup number, he could look at some of his former players in Iowa. Juniors Carson Hansen And Abu Sama III, who rushed for 1,684 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, both entered the transfer portal. Both backs would be proven commodities that could potentially serve as a one-year solution for the program at the running back position.
