The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed Canadian forward Bryce Bell.
The six-foot-four, 301-pound blocker was the Stampeders' starting center in 2025 before being sidelined with a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 2. In five seasons in Calgary, he debuted at tackle, guard and center, establishing himself as one of the league's most versatile big men.
“Bryce is the guy we drafted and, when healthy, he has been instrumental in our success,” Stampeders general manager and head coach Dave Dickenson said in a statement. “Bryce makes us better and we look forward to him coming back strong in 2026.” Given his versatility, we expect to have great competition on the offensive line during training camp.”
The Stampeder originally selected Bell in the second round of the 2021 CFL Draft out of Wilfrid Laurier University. He appeared in 55 regular season games and started 32 games for the team, as well as three playoff appearances.
“Calgary has been my home for the last five years and I have fallen in love with the team and the city,” Bell said in a statement. “Winning the Gray Cup is always the goal and to have the chance to do it at home in 2026 is very exciting. I can't wait to get back.”
The Calgary Stampeders finished third in the West Division standings in 2025 with an 11-7 record, but lost in the Western semi-finals to the BC Lions. Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 4,247 yards, 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 17 regular season starts, posting an 11-6 record.
The Stampeders ranked fourth in net offense, seventh in net defense and second with a plus-nine turnover margin. Dedrick Mills won the CFL title with 1,409 yards, while the team's leading receiver was Dominic Rhymes with 886 yards and the leading tackler was Jacob Roberts with 102 tackles. Calgary ranked fifth in attendance with an average attendance of 22,295, up 3.5 per cent from the previous year.
