Fluisulya of the Island Boys suffered a drug-induced psychotic episode, leading to his arrest and mental health evaluation in Florida over the weekend… TMZ has learned.
The rapper told us that the psychosis occurred after he took “multiple substances, like pills.”
He recalled: “During my psychosis, I spent hours trying to find something for my hair and destroyed the house while unknowingly being on live television.”
He claims that police, responding to an anonymous phone call, violated his rights by breaking into his Miami-area home without a warrant.
Police mistook nail polish on the ground for blood, Soulja told us, saying that was why they brought him in for a psychiatric examination.
After a three-day stay in the hospital, Soulja says he has been on a sober journey that has lasted 6 days so far, despite his claims that the help was flawed.
“I'm glad I got help, but I have a substance problem, not a mental problem,” he explained. “I never said I was suicidal.”
As for his sobriety… “I found myself spiritually and talked to God,” he said.
As we reported … police made a Baker Act arrest of Flysulgi on Saturday morning.
The Baker Act is a Florida mental health law that allows law enforcement or mental health professionals to recommend the temporary detention of a person for involuntary evaluation… if the person is believed to be a danger to himself or others, is unable to care for himself, or is suffering from mental health problems and is not receiving treatment.
Soulja's child's mother, KaylaTaylasaid she knew things were going badly for him, but didn't realize to what extent until she went into his house to pick up her pets after learning he was detained.
Luckily, he seems to be on the mend now… hang in there!
