Final Fantasy MTG Commander deck gets major price drop on Amazon

One of the pre-created ones Command decks released earlier this year as part of Crossover Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy just hit a record low price for Amazon.

Final Fantasy 6The Terra Theme Deck is currently on sale for 53% off at $32.70 off the suggested retail price of $69.99. While this is around the current market price for the deck at a number of retailers, it is definitely the lowest price we have ever seen from a major retailer. While three other Final Fantasy-themed Commander decks are also currently discounted on Amazon, none of them are that cheap.

“Fill your graveyard and resurrect fallen heroes as you fight alongside Terra, Bringer of Hope, to restore balance to the world,” reads the deck text. Each Pre-War Commander deck included one foil Commander, one foil Alternate Commander, and 98 non-foil cards, plus a deck box, reference card, and one set of collector's boosters. Like several other decks in the Final Fantasy set, this deck also includes 10 double-sided tokens.

Revival Trance is a red, white, and black (Mardu) deck built around bringing small creatures back from the graveyard every turn and turning those death and return triggers into big board states.

Terra, Bringer of Hope is your default commander who sets the entire game plan into motion: at the start of combat, you grind two cards and she gains the ability to fly. Then, when Terra deals combat damage, you can pay two colorless mana to return a creature card with power 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped. Since she can fly, there is a high chance that she will hit every round.

Essentially, it turns every combat step into a chance to replenish your battlefield. By default, this preview draft is filled with efficient low-power creatures from Ff6 — but the deck gets even better when you address this theme.

The alternate commander is Celes, Rune Knight, and she complements Terra's abilities nicely. Whenever one or more creatures enter your battlefield from the graveyard, Celes puts a +1/+1 counter on every a creature under your control. Since Terra returns something almost every turn, your team grows quickly if you can fit both of them on the board.

While most of the creatures in this deck are Power 3 or less, there are plenty of exceptions that are worth eliminating, namely cards like Sabin, Master Monk or Kefka, Dancing Madman. On the other hand, this gives you room to put some colored crystals in this deck, as well as red, white, and/or black creatures that better suit Terra's abilities. (Ironically, another version of this character, Terra, Adept of Magic, boasts a power of 4 and doesn't quite meet the requirements of this deck.)

Vincent Valentine; Squall, SeeD mercenary; Rose, Resolute White Mage; Sephiroth, the legendary SOLDIER; and Aerith Gainsborough are great additions, and that's only if you lean heavily into the Final Fantasy spirit. With Squall, he will double hit Terra every time she attacks alone. And with Sephiroth, you can sacrifice one of your creatures (filling your graveyard so Terra can draw it) to then draw a card and make your opponents lose 1 life and you gain 1 life. If Aerith is on the board at this moment, she will take a +1/+1 counter. Then, if she dies, perhaps having been deservedly sacrificed by Sephiroth, all of your legendary items will receive copies of all of her tokens. And right after that, Terra will be able to revive her!

While Final fantasy 10 Counter-blitz And Final Fantasy 7 Limit break The Commander decks are considered the best precons in this set, at this price it's hard to pass up Revival Trance, especially for any die-hard player. Ff6 fans who want to play Magic. But you better hurry, because this particular deal has already claimed more than half.
