Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition returns on sale for Black Friday prices on Amazon. Nintendo and PlayStation Final Fantasy fans can get a six-game retro collection for $40 (up from $75) for Switch And PS4. This is a true physical edition with all six games on a Switch cartridge or PS4 disc, and the collection is fully compatible with Switch 2 and PS5. The pixelated remasters of the first six mainline Final Fantasy games look and sound great on both platforms, but they're especially at home on a handheld console like the Switch 1/2. The Anniversary Edition includes a sticker sheet of Final Fantasy character sprites.
Amazon has deals on other remasters and remakes of classic Square Enix RPGs, including two of the publisher's biggest retro releases in recent months: Final Fantasy Tactics: Chronicles of Ivalice Up to $40 off (was $50) for Switch 1/2 and PS5, and Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake for $50 (was $60) on Switch 2, Switch, PS5 and Xbox.
$40 (was $75) for Nintendo Switch and PS4
The Anniversary Edition of Final Fantasy I-VI Collection includes pixel remasters of the following games:
- Final Fantasy I (NES, 1987)
- Final Fantasy II (NES, 1988)
- Final Fantasy III (Famicom, 1990)
- Final Fantasy IV (SNES, 1991)
- Final Fantasy V (SNES, 1992)
- Final Fantasy VI (SNES, 1994)
All six games in the Pixel Remaster series have received a complete overhaul of graphics and sound. Square Enix redesigned the sprites using the original pixel art as a basis. Series composer Nobuo Uematsu oversaw the production of the remastered soundtracks. You can also play games with original soundtracks, but the remastered versions are great.
Numerous quality-of-life features have been added, including quick saves, custom text fonts, experience multipliers, auto-battles, the ability to turn off random encounters, and more. You can also browse the in-game bestiary and art gallery, and listen to classic tunes using the music player.
The original collection was released in 2023 as a Square Enix Store exclusive, but sold out incredibly quickly. The Anniversary Edition first introduced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection to major retailers last October.
More Final Fantasy games on Switch 1/2
With the exception of the MMO Final Fantasy IX, the first 12 mainline Final Fantasy games are available in physical format on Nintendo Switch 1/2. Square Enix just released the physical editions of Final Fantasy VII & VIII Remastered Dual Pack and Final Fantasy IX in North America on December 9th. Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age retail for $25 on Amazon, half the price of the eShop versions. The physical editions have also received several spin-offs, including the highly anticipated Final Fantasy Tactics remake, which is hitting stores for the first time. Looking ahead, Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade will be released on Switch 2 in January.
Final Fantasy PS5 Game Suggestions:
PS5 owners can get Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for $20 at GameStop; Amazon was involved in this deal, but is currently sold out. Amazon also has deals on FF7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy 16.
Even More JRPG Deals for Nintendo Switch and PS5

Fans of retro JPRGs should check out Square Enix's HD-2D remakes of the first three Dragon Quest games while they're on sale. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake the discount is $35 (was $60) on PS5/Switch and $32 on Xbox. If you have a Switch 2, you can download the performance update for free from the eShop. Square Enix was the first to release a remake of DQ3, as it takes place before the events of the first game. Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake released in October and is $50 off (was $60) on Switch and Switch 2. Keep in mind that the Switch 2 version is a game key card, so you'll need to download the game from the eShop. The Switch version is the actual physical version, but cannot be upgraded to the Switch 2.
Other notable highlights from the Square Enix sale include: Neo-dimension fantasy And Romance SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven. The first is an expanded edition of the popular Apple Arcade RPG Fantasian. It is noteworthy that the game's story was written by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the director of the first five Final Fantasy games. Meanwhile, Romancing SaGa 2 is a fantastic remake that's probably unlike any turn-based RPG you've played. Both games can be purchased for $30 or less on Nintendo Switch and PS5.
Most of the offerings in the list below are Square Enix games, but we've also included some RPGs from other publishers that are sold on Amazon, including Konami. Suikoden I and II HD Remaster for 30 dollars (was 50 dollars), Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection for $22.63 (was $60), Shin Megami Tensei V: Revenge for only $18 (was $60), and Unicorn Overlord for 25 dollars (was 60 dollars).
