Fido is increasing some customers’ monthly bills by $5

A Fido customer posted on social media that he received a notice from his carrier that his monthly fee will increase by $5 (plus taxes) starting with his next bill on or after December 2nd.

Price increases may not affect all customers. However, some Fido customers received $5 price increase in Junewhile some users reported that their bills were increasing every month. It seems likely that if you received a $5 price increase in June, that bill increase won't affect you—hopefully.

Are they raising rates again??

The Fido customer also mentioned that they have already received a price increase of $3 per month. We back in March noted that some RogersFido mobile users are getting a $3 per month price increase in April.

MobileSyrup reached out to Rogers, which owns Fido, to learn more about the increase. In our experience, all carriers raise prices from time to time, and it is extremely rare to find plans without the fine print that allow carriers to increase prices over time.

However, if you are affected by price increases, the best thing you can do is switch service providers. There are many wireless providers that offer competitive rates, such as Freedom Mobile or Public Mobile. Alternatively, you can wait for the Black Friday sales, which will likely arrive later this month.
