Fast charging is a huge boon

I was excited about the 25W wireless charging capabilities when the iPhone 16 Pro was released last year and, as expected, found that Apple's updated puck delivers almost 60% increase compared to 15W chargers after testing. However, it wasn't until the iPhone 17 Pro that manufacturers started flooding the market with 25W wireless chargers.

Ugreen's new MagFlow line meets exactly this specification. Given that the most practical use case for faster charging speeds are portable batteries, I was most excited to try the 10,000mAh 25W power bank. Luckily, it passed my test with flying colors, offering the same 60% boost over 15W wireless chargers I've tested previously. All other factors aside, this is one of the fastest ways to charge your iPhone outside the home. Plus, with rated power With a capacity of 6000 mAh, it will allow you to fully charge your phone and then some.

However, what I think will attract most people to this product is the built-in USB-C cable that offers 30W charging speeds. This isn't a new concept for power banks, but it's not something that's often seen with those with Qi2 wireless charging. This addition gives the Ugreen 25W power bank practical versatility. For example, I often used the cable to quickly charge my movie camera's batteries while filming or my Nintendo Switch 2 during long dockless gaming sessions.

However, there is an unpleasant nuance: you cannot charge your phone and a wired gadget at the same time. This limitation makes sense from a technical standpoint, but it's worth being aware of before purchasing.

Aggressively clunky design

These features are great, but they also introduce physical design flaws that make them difficult to use in practice.

Its thick, brick-like shape is the main culprit. Even my large hands had a hard time holding the phone with the power adapter plugged in, and the square edges dug uncomfortably into my palm. If I had these problems, I think anyone with smaller hands might have problems using this chunker. This actively contradicts the main appeal of this product category, as it makes it difficult to use the phone while charging.

The wireless cable is another issue when it comes to ergonomics. Its large loop either rubs against your left hand or sticks out of your right hand, which is awkward and cumbersome. For a left-hander, the cable may have been an even bigger barrier to wireless charging than the shape of the power supply. By trying to take the best of two modern charging trends, it doesn't become a master of either.

However, I like how simple the battery indicator is. Yugrin abandoned emoticons which graced the screens of previous chargers. While I found this trick fun, a simple numeric indicator is much more effective.

Full price is prohibitive

While faster charging is good, it (can) cost you a pretty penny.

The stated price of this power bank is $90. This price is hard to accept for a 10,000mAh charger, but it's even more annoying given the unrefined ergonomics. If they cut the built-in cable at the same time as the price drop, it would be immediately more recommended.

However, if you see the product in stock at a discount, it makes much more sense. It shouldn't be downplayed that 25W charging is a premium feature that comes with a premium price.

Is it worth buying a Ugreen MagFlow 10000 mAh 25 W power supply?

Ugreen MagFlow power supply 10000 mAh, 25 W has superior performance and offers 25W charging, which is on par with the competition. So it's a shame that its bulky shape and awkward built-in cable make it unsuitable for portable charging.

If the versatility of the built-in cable suits your needs, you might still like this power supply. Otherwise, it's probably worth checking alternatives first or waiting for a discount.
