Fallout’s Ella Purnell Shoots Down Potential Romance For Lucy

Season 2 of Fallout is right around the corner, and Amazon Prime Video is keeping this season's storyline under wraps for the most part. But there is one thing we can be fairly sure of: Ella Purnell's Lucy will not have a romance with Walton Goggins' Ghoul, now or ever.

During an interview with Computer culturePurnell was with Goggins and Aaron Moten when she shot down the whole idea of a love affair between Lucy and the Ghoul.

“What I would say is: You guys need therapy,” Purnell said. “You can't fix him. You can't save him. Leave it alone. Leave it alone, darling.”

Goggins expressed surprise at the fan-shipping between Lucy and the Ghoul, and Purnell said she was asked about it all the time.

After the season one finale, Ghoul and Lucy head to New Vegas. He searches for the whereabouts of his wife and child, while Lucy searches for her father.

Purnell reiterated that Lucy and Ghoul won't be romantic partners, but she said their connection is “a truly beautiful thing,” before adding: “They're both looking for people they love. Let's leave everything as it is.”

Although Goggins recently provided his voice and image like the Ghoul in Fallout '76, he added that he's never played a Fallout video game and doesn't want to.

The second season of Fallout premieres on December 17 on Prime Video. new episodes are released weekly until February 4, 2026
