Fallout fans have discovered a work-in-progress build of Fallout: New Vegas with the original Mr. House design intact and the cheeky romance that goes with it.
Fallout: New Vegas is best known for two main things, one of which is that it best fallout gameand secondly, an extremely short development cycle. As a result of this rushed development, the game had content cut in order to be completed in time for launch on consoles. One such piece of content was an alternate design of Mr. House and some romantic interest in the on-screen person.
The development kits include several builds, the most complete of which is the July 2010 build (the completed build released to the public is dated August 2010). The duo also found a build from late 2009, about a year before the game's actual release.
The July build featured Mr. House's original design, which was too reminiscent of Walt. Disney for comfort, which was previously shown in some behind-the-scenes footage. And as the duo presented prototypes to the public in an attempt to reveal even more, fans discovered that Mr. House (who, again, is the face on the TV screen for most of his screen time) romantic voice lineswhich becomes surprisingly graphic when he instructs you to “straighten your shoulders,” “pull them forward,” and “lengthen your neck, please, a little.”
Presumably, by winning over Mr. House, you'll eventually gain access to the room where the real deal happens. Giving you easy access to kill him or, uh… well, you know.
