Assembly software has announced Factorio – Edition for Nintendo Switch 2with the launch configured “as soon as possible”.
Users who own Factorio Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to Switch 2 for free. The Switch 2 version of Space Age DLC will be released at the same time.

As with other games, we decided to release Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is an upgrade you can get if you own the game for the original Switch. If you don't have the game, you can get it as part of a “bundle” which is the game with the Switch 2 edition upgrade. Nintendo has more information/clarification about the Switch 2 editions. Here.
The updated version will feature:
- Better resolution. The game will run at native screen resolution of 1080p instead of 720p. When connected, it supports all resolutions, including 2160p (4K).
- Support for variable refresh rate console screen.
- Some animations are of higher quality.
- Several sprites in higher resolution.
- Other visual improvements.
- Accelerated loading.
- Ability to build much larger bases.
- Mouse mode support. Using the Joy-Con mouse sensor, the left or right Joy-Con can be used as a mouse.
The price for this update will be… free. We do not consider it reasonable to pay for a technical update. Players who want to support us and want more content can get the Space Age expansion.
Factorio: Space Age
We are pleased to announce that Factorio: Space Age Coming soon to Switch 2 as DLC for $35. It will contain the same content as the PC version, nothing has been removed or cut down.
