Exodus: The Colonization of Space Lands on Steam for the First Time

Explore the galaxy in Exodus: The Colonization of Space

Exodus: The Colonization of Space launches today on PC, once again opening the floodgates to the classic strategy game that first appeared twenty-eight years ago. Artex Software's debut project, created for the Acorn RISCOS platform in 1997, was restored and released on Steam, giving a much wider audience the opportunity to experience a retro vision of galactic discovery and expansion. Priced at $4.99 in the US, €4.99 in Europe and £4.29 in the UK, the game returns as an accessible window into an earlier era of space-themed strategy games.

Exodus: The Colonization of Space is a turn-based simulation game in which players map unknown systems, establish footholds on distant planets, and form new civilizations. Each world has a separate map, which is gradually filled with cities, factories and farms. And also many of the details that hold society together.

Each planet's climate, resources, and natural temperament affect how easily that settlement grows. Therefore, expansion should be thoughtful and not impulsive. Planning becomes the lifeline of a thriving colony, helping players survive natural disasters and transform fragile outposts into resilient homeworlds.

Artex Software originally operated from 1997 to 1999, leaving a short but memorable mark on the RISCOS community. After a long silence, the studio again acted as a publisher and offered its first project to the modern viewer. This new release gives players the opportunity to explore the origins of the strategy game. It once existed on a niche platform, but now it has made its way to PC with renewed vigor. So, go ahead and lead humanity across the expanses of the galaxy.
