An apocalyptic Wild West awaits in Exekiller
Paradark studio has released a new three-minute review of the gameplay ExeKilleroffering a deeper look at the cyber-western, action-adventure game built on player choice and systemic freedom. The video debuted during the New Game+ Showcase 2026, highlighting key mechanics and the game's distinct setting.
In the game, players take on the role of Denzel Phoenix, a licensed bounty hunter hired by the powerful Helion Corporation. His mission is to track down the fugitives and extract their SOULS, digital implants used to monitor and control the population. This premise sets the stage for a morally charged narrative shaped by the player's decisions.
Survival plays a central role in ExeKiller's gameplay. Inventory space is limited, supplies are expensive, and the hostile wasteland poses a constant threat. Radiation zones, deadly sandstorms and extreme temperatures force players to carefully manage resources and prepare for environmental hazards as well as encounters with enemies.
The combat is flexible and very experimental. While weapons are an important tool, players can also combine weapons, gadgets, cybernetic abilities, and environmental elements to creatively solve situations or avoid combat entirely. Cybernetic implants also enhance Denzel's experience, allowing players to explore the environment, uncover hidden details, and piece together narrative clues without relying on traditional waypoint systems.
Missions are completely non-linear, offering clear objectives but no fixed solutions. Players can rely on stealth, dialogue, direct combat, or hybrid approaches, with choices affecting NPC reactions, story progression, and multiple endings.
ExeKiller is currently in active development for PC, but there are plans to release it on consoles as well. The game is now wishlisted on Steam as development continues.
