Halloween III: Season of the Witch was released just a year after its predecessor, but the 1982 film served as the starting point for the series as it is the only installment in the series without Michael Myers. It's not even a slasher film; As the title suggests, Halloween III is more of a sci-fi movie with witchcraft. It was supposed to be the first in an anthology of films. When it debuted in theaters, it received poor reviews, although it was compared to Michael Myers' slasher films. It's actually part of the series in name only, but it's actually a pretty awesome film that many fans appreciate and enjoy these days – you just have to consider it as a standalone film rather than part of a wider series of Halloween slasher films.
