Two Space Force officers lost their home and pet cat in a targeted attack just days after Christmas.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller, Maj. Jason “Red” Mills detailed how his home was burglarized, set on fire, and vandalized. While he, his wife and his 10-month-old daughter were celebrating Christmas in Florida, Mills awoke at 5 a.m. to a phone call from D.C. police notifying him that his home had been set on fire. He later learned that his car had also been searched and vandalized with signs that read: “Fuck Trump,” “Fuck you spaceman,” and “Fuck USDS,” which could mean “US DOGE Service.”(RELATED: If You Want to Suppress Leftist Terror, Here's Where to Start)
Mills spoke to the Caller personally, without representing the Space Force or the War Department. Both he and his wife are members of the Space Force, and both joined the military in the early 2010s.
“I would say there is a general anti-war sentiment in some parts of D.C. right now,” Mills told the Caller.
“If they intended to target from the beginning. I walk to and from work, from the subway and live in the part of Washington where [the military doesn’t typically live.] So I'm the only person even remotely nearby who's ever been in uniform, so they may have seen something happen from my house, just in uniform every day,” he added.

Mills told the Caller that upon learning that his home had been set on fire and severely damaged, he immediately flew back to Washington, D.C., to assess the damage. Upon returning home, firefighters told Mills that one person appeared to have started two fires at different levels, one in the kitchen and the other in the basement of the home. The fire report received by the Caller contains the same information. The fire report notes that the incident is classified as a fire.
The police report notes that the man was taken into custody after he was caught with some items at Mills' home. The investigation into the incident remains open.
He and his wife walked around the property in hazmat suits, trying to find items from their home. Some important items were saved, such as Mills' daughter's hospital bracelet on her birthday. Mills shared a photo of his wife and several framed photos of his children that were also salvaged from the fire.
In the rubble, Mills told the Caller that he was able to dig the body of their cat out of the fire.
His car was also broken into; The interior mirrors were torn off and papers were scattered everywhere. Black ink was smeared all over the car, on the dashboard and on the inside mirror, Mills told the caller. Also found on Mills' car was an “Air Force Research Laboratory” sticker with a giant “X” written on it.
Due to the targeted nature of the attack, Mills told the Caller that he needed to notify his command. The reaction was “touching.”
Mills said family members created a GoFundMe after the attack and the response has overwhelmed him.
“I was shocked that students at the school I taught at sent $500 each,” Mills told the Caller. He added that the military community spread the story, which he believes helped it gain traction.
GoFundMe at the time of publication, it had raised approximately $90,000 since its inception four days ago. One donation of $10,000 was made by Jared Isaacman, the same name as Trump's NASA administrator. An administration official confirmed to the caller that the donation was, in fact, made by a NASA administrator.

“Myself and the whole family are very, very grateful and appreciative of all the support we have received thus far,” Mills told the Caller. “It far exceeded anything we expected…it was frankly stunning in the best possible way.”
