new monsters V REPOintroduced as part of the monster update, they are a truly terrifying bunch. While some are deadlier than others, you probably wouldn't want to be stuck in a haunted mansion with a bug-like patrolman, a creepy hot air balloon boy, a huge doll-like creature, an amazing Cute stalker and much more that fuels nightmares.
If this somehow doesn't stop you and you would like to know what to expect from every new monster in REPOhere's a review.
All monsters in monster update REPO v.0.3.0
Detailed descriptions of their appearance, behavior and some tips on how to avoid damage: here's every new monster in REPO. This list ranks them (roughly) by level of danger, so we'll start with innocent unless provoked and end with instant-kill terror.
Check mark
This little guy is just wandering around REPO corridors, minding his own business unless you try to grab him. If you do this, Tick will drain your health by 10 points per second, up to a total of 100 points. The only way to survive this attack is to hit the Tick repeatedly on the walls and floor or have more than 100 health. When Tick is full, he will let you go and start ignoring you again, but don't repeat the favor; if you kill the Tick you will get back most of the HP that was stolen from you.
Elsa
Don't worry about this cute puppy; Elsa may be considered a “monster”, but all she needs is a little love. Upon noticing the player, Elsa will follow him, asking for pets. If you pet Elsa a few times, she'll happily go on her way, but if you ignore her, she'll become increasingly frustrated (in addition to barking and jumping, her eyes will turn red) and eventually turn into a werewolf-like monster. This will also happen if you harm her. This larger version of Elsa is incredibly strong, has a very high health pool, and can run, jump, and crouch like a beast quite quickly, so she will easily kill you if you don't get a head start during the transformation. Just pet the little stalker, okay?
Bella
A bit like Elsa. REPOThe three-wheeled Bella monster will not attack the player unless provoked. Unfortunately, this is quite easy to do by hovering around it for a few seconds, seemingly without the tricycle driver, or by blocking its path. Listen to the frantic clanging of the tricycle; Once it rings three times, angry Bella ghosts will appear on a tricycle and immediately start chasing you. It is almost impossible to avoid damage as Bella is incredibly fast. It's best to get to the higher ledge (using tumbling climb abilities, for example) or turn a corner and hope Bella gets stuck. However, Bella only deals about 5 damage per hit and usually disappears after 6-10 seconds, so there's a good chance you'll survive the attack if you're at full health.
Birthday boy
This little boy may look menacing, but he's completely harmless – until you pop one of his balloons, in which case he'll follow you around. You can outrun him if you have high stamina, but it's not easy. If the Birthday Boy gets close enough, his rapid successive hits will quickly deplete your health by 10 points per hit. It's surprisingly hard not to make the Birthday Boy angry as he keeps dropping more and more balloons all over the place, and all it takes is a light touch to make them pop. The best option is to attack the Birthday Boy before he has time to blow up a lot of balloons, as a direct hit will scare him off, but not make him angry.
Hugger of Hearts
This is weird REPO the flower is mostly motionless; he cannot move once he has spawned somewhere, but will respawn quite often. From its rooted position, Heart Hugger will emit pink spores in your direction and if it hits you, it will pull you in. A cute pink heart will appear on the screen for a few seconds before the Heart Hugger drains 60 to 90 HP. You can try to kill the Heart Hugger before it reaches its target, but since it has quite a lot of health, a much safer way to avoid damage is to simply stay out of range. Fortunately, pink spores do not spread as quickly.
Gambit
Once it sees you, this oddly shaped hugger will chase you until it catches you. When he does this, instead of attacking directly, he will start spinning the wheel of fortune. Depending on which color the spinner lands on, the following will happen:
-
Red: You will lose 50 HP.
-
Green: You gain 25 HP.
-
Yellow: You receive a valuable item worth approximately $1,000.
-
White: Your health is fully restored.
-
Black: Your health is 1.
Meeting with Gambit in REPO may be a blessing or a curse, but most likely the latter, since the wheel has four red planes, two green, one yellow and a smaller one common to white and black. This means that the Gambit spinner has a 50% chance of landing on red and a 6.25% chance of landing on black. If you don't like those odds, it's best to kill Gambit before he grabs you – his HP is lower than Birthday Boy or Animal, so you have a good chance of success. Just don't attack, stun, or grab Gambit if he's already caught a player, as he'll deal 60 damage.
Oogly
This one looks like a wasp REPO the monster flies around the map at a fairly calm pace. If he grabs you, he will deal 4 damage per hit on top of the major physical damage caused by the throw. However, Ugli only attacks players caught in the area of his green light (the green light shines from his stomach), so his attacks can often be avoided; just keep an eye out for the greenish glow as you explore the map. If Ugli grabs you, you will be able to fight back, but it will be difficult to land any blows.
head grab
This little ogre roams the map and attacks any player it spots. It's not fast or particularly dangerous; The Headgrab will usually strike three times, dealing up to 25 damage in total, before running away. For some time he will stare at you, giving you the opportunity to attack first, and if you are lucky, he may not attack at all. His HP is at the bottom, like Gambit and Birthday Boy. Please note that in multiplayer mode this REPO The monster can equip the head of a dead player, making the head grab stronger and faster.
Cleaning Team
This large creature with a tumor is easily recognized by its heavy steps and bright yellow pants. If he spots you, he will throw his own head at you, which will explode after a few seconds. Be careful, the head will bounce a few times, so don't underestimate its range. Although the explosion easily drains at least 70 HP, followed by a poison cloud that drains 15 HP per second, you can avoid any damage by dodging the head or grabbing it and throwing it away. The cleaning crew takes a few seconds to regrow a head, giving you the opportunity to attack, but be careful: if you get close, it will defend itself with a melee attack.
Loom
Any last words? If this REPO creep is targeting you, you have a serious problem as the Loom stalks its prey until it dies. Its movement speed is pretty slow, so you won't have too much trouble staying ahead, but with this thing on your tail, it will be very difficult to loot and avoid other monsters. If the Loom catches you, it will deal 100 damage in one hit, which is an instant kill early in the game, even at full HP. Your best bet is to avoid it and hope for the best, take turns distracting the Loom if you're in multiplayer mode (it switches targets if another player is in line of sight), or attacking with a strong ranged weapon. Keep in mind that the Loom has a very high health level.
