Joe went on to say that “physical attraction can grow” since they already have an emotional connection. “There’s a lot of attraction between both of us,” he said.

While discussing the topic together, Madison asked Joe what he thought of her when they first met. “To be honest, I felt like a stranger,” he said.

Joe described how it took him a while to connect the person he talked to in the pods with the person he met in person.

Madison was curious to know if he thought she was “hot” and Joe said yes. She said she is still connecting the physical and emotional elements. “I don’t take it personally, I promise,” she said.

Madison asked Joe if he felt like she was his “person” and he said yes. “At first I wasn’t calm, but now I’m calm. That's all that matters,” he explained.

Madison was “very attracted” to Joe and he said he was “attracted” to her too. The next day, the couple agreed that they had great sex, but Madison expressed concern that she liked Joe more than she liked him.

Joe assured Madison that he thought she was “beautiful,” “sexy,” and “attractive.” He also said that in the past he just had a physical type. “I find your body attractive. I find everything about you attractive and that too is only growing,” he said.

In an interview with GlamorMadison said she developed an eating disorder after returning from a trip to Mexico and appearing on the show.

“What he said casually really affected me, you know?” she said. “It’s very important to realize that words have weight.”

Joe clarified his comments, saying, “I never want to contribute to anyone feeling that way. She always came across as confident and comfortable in her own skin. Keep in mind, I wasn't shaming her in our conversation. Just being truthful about who I've been attracted to in the past. I found her attractive, both in the way she looked and the way she acted.”

Madison has now said she's “healthy” and hopes Joe will be “much more thoughtful” when talking about women's bodies.
