Even Realities is releasing the second generation of its smart glasses, and this time they'll be paired with a brand new smart ring.
The Even G2 smart glasses with display, a more advanced version of the G1, feature an updated version of the company's HAO optical processor, which still renders text in bright green, with more depth and sharpness. Even Realities also reports that the new glasses can display pop-ups such as AI prompts or push notifications. However, the new HAO optical engine will display notifications at a different depth than the rest of the screen, but the text will still only be green.
The G2's prescription range has also been increased, with the glasses now supporting a range of -12 to +12. The bezels themselves have also been improved: Even Realities notes that the G2 has a 54 percent thinner bezel and is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance.
Moving on to the biggest change, the G2 smart glasses are now compatible with the company's new R1 smart ring. Made from medical-grade ceramic and stainless steel, it features a flat touch panel on one side for interacting with the G2 interface. The R1 also features an optical heart rate sensor and accelerometer for heart rate and step tracking, which can be viewed using the G2 smart glasses.
The glasses will also get a new AI feature called Conversation, which will try to suggest AI-generated information during conversations. According to Even Realities, Conversate will explain, provide context, add follow-up questions, and prepare a summary and key points once you've finished speaking.
More and more large companies are entering the smart glasses market, with Meta providing its smart glasses technology to brands such as Oakley, Ray-Banand even Apple, which moved away from the lighter version of Vision Pro and developed its own smart glasses.
