Enjoy a cozy holiday in Escape Simulator 2
Just two months after release, indie developer Pine Studio has released the first free update for Escape Simulator 2, bringing a festive touch to the world of puzzles. The holiday update introduces a Christmas-themed escape room filled with playful challenges, tricky traps, and light-hearted seasonal chaos. Inspired by classic holiday films like Home Alone, the new content features a playful design while maintaining the game's emphasis on smart problem solving. The update is now available for free to all players who own the game.
In addition to the new room, Pine Studio has expanded the room editor 2.0 to include a selection of winter and Christmas themed props. These additions allow creators to create and share their own holiday quests, complete with snow decorations and holiday puzzles. This further strengthens the game's already active community-driven content scene.
Since its launch on October 27, Escape Simulator 2 has attracted over 250,000 players and received a great response from fans of the genre. The game currently offers 12 handcrafted escape rooms with three different themes, ranging from a cursed pirate ship to an abandoned starship. Additionally, players can explore hundreds of community-created rooms using robust editor tools.
Escape Simulator 2 supports both single-player and co-op play, and a dedicated lobby room makes teaming up with friends easy and convenient. Improved physics and interaction with the environment create the feeling of being in a real quest room, where almost every object invites experimentation.
Pine Studio has confirmed that additional themed content packs are in development, with additional updates planned for early 2026. Escape Simulator 2 is available on Steam for £14.99, €16.99 or $19.99, with a 20 percent discount running until January 5th.
