It seems like everyone is fighting to create the most popular mining game right now, with games like Arc Raiders, Marathon, Escape from Tarkov, and more fighting each other for the crown. However, out of nowhere another contender appeared: Escape from Dukov.
Escape from Duckov is a PvE mining game where you have to roam the map, collect as much loot as possible, and then escape the area without dying or losing all of your ill-gotten gains. Turn? You're a duck. In fact, these are all ducks. These are ducks with guns and knives, killing each other.
The game, created by gaming studio Team Soda Bilibili, was launched on Steam on October 16th. Since then, the number of players has grown rapidly, peaking at approximately 61,000 in one day and then continuing to climb to the current peak (at the time of writing) of 221,963.
For those who don't know, the name Escape from Duckov is a reference to Escape from Tarkov, arguably the first major escape shooter in its popular form. That game is due out on Steam in November, so perhaps Dukov will give eager fans something to think about in the meantime. Sorry.
The game currently retails for £15.83/$15.83/€15.83. The game took third place among the world's best sellers on Steam, behind Battlefield 6 And Counter Strike 2. Not bad for a game that just hit the platform a few days ago.
“Escape from Dukov” also spreads its wings Arc Raiders has completed its own playtest on the serversand right before the start of the Marathon due to conduct the next closed technical test after a shaky first impression. Strictly speaking, Escape from Duckov as a PvE game is not a direct competitor to these releases, despite its cheeky name, but who knows? Perhaps Escape from Duckov will continue to thrive in these rough digital waters.
