With Epic Games freebie of the week program is becoming something of a staple, it's always worth checking what's hitting store shelves. And this month we have a pretty exciting addition: a classic coming back to life. That's because Double Dragon Trilogy is Epic Games' latest free-to-play release!
Double Dragon needs no introduction to our older readers. But for those of you who were too young to drop all your coins overnight at the slot machines, here's a primer. Double Dragon is the quintessential side-scrolling action game that defined the genre back in the 80s.
Setup is very simple. Billy and Jimmy Lee are up against a gang of thugs and the only way out is some good old fashioned punching and kicking. But this new trilogy for mobile devices is being positioned as more than just a port of the original series.

This new version is developed by DotEmu and was released for the first time. back in 2013Each of the three editions included in the set has two modes. The arcade is, as you'd expect, an original experience. Meanwhile, Story offers new achievements and milestones as you progress through campaigns.
Double Dragon Trilogy also boasts fully customizable controls that you can customize to your liking, as well as built-in controller support. There are even three separate difficulty levels: Mobile suitable for the new version of the smartphone, Original for the purists among you, and Expert for Double Dragon veterans looking for a truly hardcore challenge.
